Remembering is recognizing some thought we own already. Memory is always of another memory, referential, allegorical, contaminated, repetitive. Then each cycle produces a new memory so there's an acquired depth in the layering. A memory is a cliche that moves slowly through the mind.
Material props, triggers of remembering, like photographs or familiar objects, are only apparently 'objective', immovable. Actually they move along with us. The 'Sky Depth' piece is about the burden of possessions (we're made of) and the joy of first sights ('deja-vu' counts as a first impression). |
